Iditarod award for Grande Prairie musher

Mar 18, 2019 | 4:31 PM

A Grande Prairie musher has been saluted at the Iditarod awards banquet.

Aaron Peck was given the Herbie Nayokpuk Award, symbolic of keeping a positive attitude in the face of adversity, at the Sunday evening event.

A post on his Facebook page says Peck was “surprised and honoured ” to get it and grateful to all who voted for him.

Peck finished the Anchorage to Nome sled dog race Friday, completing the 1000 mile journey in just over 11 days and 11 hours.
