St.Mary’s High School in Sexsmith claims bronze at Provincials

It was a big weekend for the Sexsmith St.Mary’s Senior Boys Basketball team.

The club competed at 1A Provincials which took place in Stirling Alberta from Thursday to Saturday.

St.Mary’s went into the weekend as the 12th seed in the 12-team tournament.

However, that didn’t stop them from making a significant run at the event.

They knocked off Olds (61-46) & Rosemary (75-61) to earn a spot in the Semi-Final’s Friday night where they ran into the #1 seed, the host Stirling.

St.Mary’s would fall in the Semi-Finals 71-49, but despite the tough result, they would bounce back in the Bronze medal game Saturday afternoon against the #2 seed Parkland Immanuel Christian.

St.Mary’s would win the bronze medal game 63-40.
