Throne Speech to open spring legislature session

Mar 18, 2019 | 1:49 PM

A new session of the Alberta legislature begins today with a speech from the throne.

Lieutenant-Governor Lois Mitchell is expected to rise in the house at about 3 p.m. to deliver the speech that outlines the N-D-P government’s priorities for the coming year.

It could be a brief sitting if Premier Rachel Notley calls a spring election soon.

By law, a provincial vote must be held by May 31.
