A search of two homes in Grande Prairie last week uncovered a variety of drugs and weapons.

ALERT Grande Prairie’s organized crime and gang team, with the assistance of Grande Prairie RCMP, searched the homes on March 15, which concluded a short investigation.

The following items seized were during the search:

  • 245 grams of cocaine
  • 235 grams of methamphetamine
  • 413 oxycodone pills
  • 12 grams of heroin
  • 1.3 litres of GHB
  • 22 suspected steroid pills
  • $28,460 in cash proceeds of crime.
  • A shotgun and rifle

The total estimated street value of the drugs seized is $50,000.

“Short-term, quick hit investigations such as this speak to ALERTS’s ability to translate criminal intelligence into viable enforcement information,” said ALERT inspector Sean Boser, in a release.

23-year-old Taylor Leslie and 20-year-old Caiden MacKinnon face a total of 30 charges related to the crimes. Leslie has been released on bail, while MacKinnon remains in custody. He also faces multiple breach of condition charges.

Anyone who may suspect drug or gang activity is encouraged to either contact the RCMP, or report it to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
