Edmonton police bogged down with low priority calls

Mar 22, 2019 | 11:09 AM

Edmonton’s new police chief says his officers are getting bogged down responding to low priority calls such as people being impaired in public.

Chief Dale McFee says a new unit will focus on such calls, which often involve the same people.

In the 2018 annual policing plan report card, the Edmonton Police Service was handed a “C” grade for response time performance.
