Woman fatally stabbed in downtown Edmonton

Edmonton police say a 48-year-old woman was fatally stabbed this morning in the downtown area.

Police say they found the woman lying on the ground after they responded to a report of a stabbing.

They say she was transported to hospital by paramedics, where she was pronounced dead.

Homicide Section continues to investigate but there is no word on any suspects.
