GPRC hands out yearly awards at Festival of Gold

It was a chance to celebrate a great year of athletics at the GPRC Thursday night as the college hosted the 49th annual Festival of Gold.

It was a big night for Liam O’Hallahan of the GPRC Men’s basketball team.

O’Hallahan took home both the 2018-2019 Male Rookie of the Year award, but also Male Athlete of the Year.

Earning Female Rookie of the Year was Sophie Melin of the Women’s Basketball team.

The Female Athlete of the Year award though was shared between Alex Verhun of the Wolves Women’s Soccer team and Megan Koch from the Women’s Volleyball team.

GPRC Athletics will start up again in the fall when soccer season gets underway.
