Apr 2, 2019 | 6:44 AM

The Victoria Royals became the 7th team to clinch a spot in the 2nd round of the WHL playoffs Monday night and a peace region product was a big reason why.

20-year-old defenceman Ralph Jarratt who hails from Fort St.John registered a goal and two assists in the Royals 6 game series win over the Kamloops Blazers, which was capped off with a 6-3 win Monday evening.

Jarratt had 6 goals and 9 assists in 32 games during the regular season.

The Royals will now move on to face the Vancouver Giants in the 2nd round of the post-season.

Vancouver also features Fort St.John’s Tristan Nielsen.

No official schedule has been announced for the start of the series, but it is expected to begin on Friday.
