UPDATE: Man injured, diesel spilled after Tuesday collision on Highway 43

UPDATE: (12:30 p.m. Wednesday)

Grande Prairie RCMP say the man injured in a semi crash along Highway 43 near Range Road 20 Tuesday morning has serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police and EMS were called to the crash around 8:15 a.m. The injured man was taken to the QE II by STARS.

Mounties add that the truck was carrying diesel, some of which spilled in the area.

A cleanup is underway, but the highway has re-opened.

Occupational Health and Safety has been notified.

The Grande Prairie RCMP are currently on the scene of a collision on Highway 43 involving a semi truck.

The collision took place near range road 20.

Currently the semi is blocking the westbound lane of travel and the RCMP are advising motorists who are in the area to expect delays.

Travelers are also being asked to consider an alternate route.

STARS was called to the scene at 8:34 a.m.

One male, 56, was transported to the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in serious condition.
