Edmonton man arrested after terrorism hoax

RCMP say an Edmonton man has been arrested in what turned out to be a terrorist hoax.

The Mounties say they were called last Tuesday when the U-S Consulate in Calgary received a letter from a man who said he was planning acts of terrorism against Canadian and American citizens, including his own wife.

Police say they discovered during their investigation that the suspect sent the letter in an attempt to implicate his roommate.

Martin Palasz has been charged with one count of terrorist hoax and one count of public mischief.
