Apr 3, 2019 | 5:24 PM

High Level RCMP say a man who tried to drive a tractor across ice on the Peace River has not been located after he and his machine went through the ice on Tuesday.

Police say the man is 64-years-old and from La Crete. He fell into the river near Carcajou.

Mounties say he was driving the tractor with family members following in pick-ups. He made it part way across before falling in.

He did not resurface.

Police say they have contacted the chief medical examiners office.
