More reports of vandalism to campaign signs

Apr 3, 2019 | 5:30 AM

Similar to candidates in Grande Prairie, candidates in Central Peace-Notley have asked people to stop vandalizing campaign signs.

Marg McCuaig-Boyd of the NDP, the UCP’s Todd Loewen and Wayne F. Meyer of the LIberal Party appeared in a video together on Facebook to condemn the actions of those who choose to destroy or deface campaign signs.

Loewen adds in a separate Facebook post that if it is someone taking things too far, or just an indiscriminate vandal, damaging signs is unacceptable because they are part of the democratic process.

He adds one of his campaign volunteers actually fixed a sign for a rival candidate that may have been hit by vandals or wind. He would like to challenge all the other campaigns across Alberta to look after each other.

Election day is April 16.
