Bezanson teen to compete in Miss Teenage Canada pageant
14-year-old Mia Ouellet-Wilson, a self-described “country girl” who lives on an acreage with her family near Bezanson, has won the title of “Miss Teen Northern Alberta”. The competition that took place in Calgary earlier this year was the teens first pageant ever. Next she’ll be heading to Toronto for the nationally ranked “Miss Teenage Canada” pageant.
The current grade nine student at Bezanson School describes entering the contest on a whim, after getting the idea to enter from watching an episode of TLC’s hit show “Toddlers & Tiaras” at home.
“There were 20 girls there and I thought I would go and get a good experience. I wasn’t too sure if I was going to place or not but then I came out and I placed, and it was really shocking,” says Ouellet-Wilson.
