Sonnenberg rink falls just short of U-18 Nationals playoffs

The Cortland Sonnenberg rink of Grande Prairie fell just short of the playoff round at the Under 18 nationals in Sherwood Park.

Nathan Molberg scored twice in both the first and fifth ends to defeat Sonnenberg 6-2 in a rematch of the Alberta final.

The loss left Sonnenberg in fifth place in his pool with a 2-and-4 record.

Only the top four teams in each pool make the playoff round.
