DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The British Columbia government has added a month to its consultations over caribou conservation because of community concerns over logging restrictions and backcountry access.

Premier John Horgan says his government did not provide enough information about what the province is planning.

Speaking in Dawson Creek, he said a debate over how the endangered herds should be preserved has been tearing the northeastern B.C. city apart.
