Large amount of drugs found during Valleyview RCMP investigation into break and enters

Valleyview RCMP have arrested four suspects and uncovered a large amount of drugs, after executing a search warrant on Friday in relation to a series of break and enters over the winter months of 2019.

Upon searching a residence in Valleyview on April 12, RCMP uncovered the following:

  • 99 grams of methamphetamine
  • 227 grams of MDMA
  • 0.24 grams of cocaine
  • 18 grams of fentanyl

The charges against Walter Cory Wilson (33), Jeremy Engels (42), Travis Bartlett (32) and Lyanna Hamelin (37) include possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of MDMA for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of a prohibited device. Bartlett has an additional charge of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking. Hamelin was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Wilson faces 11 additional charges in relation to the break and enters, which include:

  • Break and enter to commit theft at A&W in Valleyview
  • Break and enter to commit theft at Shell liquor store in Valleyview
  • Break and enter with intent at Captain Pizza in Valleyview
  • Three counts of possession of break and entering tools
  • Three counts of disguised with intent
  • Possession of stolen property over $5000.00
  • Mischief under $5000.00
