Fire at Shell complex near Edmonton Monday

Shell is assessing how a fire yesterday at its Scotford site northeast of Edmonton will affect operations.

The company says crews were called to the fire around 8:45 a.m., along with Strathcona County and Fort Saskatchewan Emergency Services.

It was declared out around noon, and Shell says there were no injuries.

The complex consists of a bitumen upgrader, oil refinery, chemical plant and a carbon capture and storage facility.
