Ford looking to Kenney as ally in carbon tax battle

Ontario Premier Doug Ford is calling Alberta premier designate Jason Kenney a great ally in the anti-federal carbon tax alliance.

Ford was speaking in the Ontario legislature this morning, hours after Kenney and his United Conservative Party swept to power in yesterday’s election.

The Ontario Tory caucus rose to give Kenney a standing ovation, with Ford saying there will now be five premiers across the country who are dead against the carbon tax.

Kenney said during the election campaign that he would both fight the tax and repeal Alberta’s carbon emissions program brought in by the previous NDP government.
