Grande Prairie fighter looking to stay perfect at Brave 23

Apr 18, 2019 | 7:00 PM

A Grande Prairie Mixed Martial Artist will put his perfect professional record on the line tomorrow overseas.

Alex “The Great” Martinez is set to take on Anas Siraj “The Moroccan Sensation” Mounir at Brave 23: Pride and Honor in Amman, Jordan. The fight will go down at around 8:30 a.m. Friday mountain time and can be viewed on Fite TV.

This is Martinez’s first fight since December, where he defeated Hanru Botha at Brave 19 in Sun City, South Africa to move to 5-0 in his professional career. He hasn’t lost a fight since July 10, 2016, when he was an amateur.

The 24-year-old is the only Canadian on the card, and should be evenly matched with Mounir, as the two are the same height, with Martinez holding nearly a 1.5 lb edge.

Martinez fights out Champion Gym in Grande Prairie.
