Man hospitalized after boat crash dies

Grande Prairie RCMP say the man taken to hospital after a boat capsized on Bear Creek Monday has died.

The 45-year-old was one of two people travelling in a jet boat Monday afternoon when it turned over after running into some rapids.

A 42-year-old man also in the boat was able to swim to shore and contact emergency personnel. That call came in at around 2:30 p.m.

Police say the names of those involved will not be released.

Mounties said earlier both were wearing helmets and life jackets.
