Ross finds back of the net in heartbreaking loss for Slash

Day 2 of the Esso Cup featured a heavyweight bout in the evening between the defending champion St.Albert Slash and the host Sudbury Wolves.

The Slash, who have Spirit River products Dayle Ross and Tianna Yaremko on the club fell 3-2 in overtime to the Wolves.

Ross scored the opening goal of the contest to break the ice in the first period.

With the loss, the Slash are 1-0-1 at the tournament and sit in 2nd place after two days.

The Slash will be back on the ice Tuesday afternoon when they battle the Saskatoon Stars.
