Northern Twistmasters set to host 4th annual Northern Classic

It will be busy pair of days for the Northern Twistmasters in Grande Prairie as they host their 4th annual Northern Classic tournament.

The tournament features youth classes as well as Pro and Novice men and women classes.

“In the past we have seen as many as 40 to 50 youth pullers come out,” stated Northern Twistmasters Coach Doug Curtiss.

“We have quite a few regular attendees at our club and we have produced some National Champions from our club.”

Curtiss notes, the fun and intriguing part about the sport of arm wrestling is the fact everyone has probably taken part in the sport at some point in their life.

“Everybody has at least a passing interest in it. It is one of those sports where someone at some point has tried it in their life. Whether when you were a kid, or trying to beat your parents, or trying to beat your buddy’s at school.”

The tournament will begin with the weigh-ins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday and the pulling will take place at 12:00 p.m.
