Residents Allowed to Return Home After Morning Fire at Industrial Site

An early morning fire at Secure Energy’s La Glace facility is now under control.

At around 7:15 this morning the Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership was activated after the call came in regarding the fire in the area of Range Road 85 and Secondary Highway 672.

Firemaster Oilfield Services took the lead in bringing the blaze under control, with the assistance of County Fire Services.

Properties within a 2.1 km radius of the facility were evacuated as a precaution.

However, there is no concern for public safety at this time, and those residents have been allowed to return to their homes.

No word yet on damage amounts or the cause of the fire.
