Fire advisory in place for Slave Lake region

With the wildfire hazard now at Very High for the Slave Lake forest management area, a fire advisory has been put in place for that region.

All existing fire permits in the Slave Lake region have been suspended and no new permits will be issued for the time being until conditions improve.

Some fires are still allowed, such as portable propane fire pits, charcoal briquettes, and safe wood campfires in campgrounds, backyards and random camping area.

Gas or propane stoves and barbecues are also still allowed.
