Search of city home turns up stolen vehicle, drugs and firearms

Grande Prairie RCMP have charged a city man after they searched a home in the city last Friday evening.

According to police, a possible stolen vehicle was linked to the residence and once they searched the property they found illegal drugs, firearms and stolen property.

Property seized included:

  • Approximately 32 grams of Methamphetamine
  • 10 Fentanyl tablets
  • Approximately 1.5 grams of Fentanyl
  • 8 grams of Cocaine
  • Two license plates
  • A stolen vehicle
  • 2 Firearms
  • Additional weapons

35-year-old Shane Anthony Haugen faces 14 counts.

His charges include:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime x 6
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm x 2
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking x 3
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Obstruction of a peace
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm/ammunition

Haugen was scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court today.
