Petroleum Show attracts over 300 exhibitors

May 15, 2019 | 5:30 AM

More than 300 exhibitors will be at this year’s Peace Region Petroleum Show.

It runs Wednesday and Thursday at the Tara Centre at Evergreen Park.

Show Manager Tanya Oliver says that number is up from the last edition two years ago..

“We’ve expanded our booth space inside, over and above what we had in 2017, so we’re really excited about that. We have about 420 booth spaces, so some exhibitors have multiple booths. It’s 330 exhibitors filling up 420 booth spaces.”

She adds people in the energy business seem a look more optimistic these days.

“It’s definitely a lighter mood. People seem a little bit more confident and there seems to be a positive outlook.”

Oliver says this is a good time for people in the business to make new contacts.

“And to meet with customers face-to-face. There’s so many phone calls and emails these days, nothing beats a face-to-face meeting. (There’s) lots of things happening in the Grande Prairie region. It’s the place to be.”

Hours today and tomorrow are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission as free, but Oliver is asking people to go to www.prpshow.com and register as a visitor as their will be long line-ups for in-person registration.

The Petroleum Show is a joint presentation of the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce and the Grande Prairie Petroleum Association.
