UPDATE: Fire advisory ends in Grande Prairie Forest Area

May 15, 2019 | 12:53 PM

UPDATE: (4:45 p.m. May 15) The fire advisory has now been lifted in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

The rain has brought the fire hazard down to moderate and more rain and cool weather are in the forecast.

The MD of Fairview ended its fire advisory just before noon Wednesday.

The rain is bringing down the fire hazard, but not eliminating the fire advisory.

The hazard is now rated moderate in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

Alberta Agriculture and Forestry says some parts of the region are getting less rain than others.

The fire advisory is still in place.

Existing permits are still valid, but new ones are not being issued.
