City fire ban coming Wednesday

May 21, 2019 | 3:15 PM

The Grande Prairie Fire Department says a fire ban will be in place as of 2 p.m. Wednesday.

All open burning, backyard fireworks, burning barrels, tiki torches, briquettes and the like will all be prohibited.

Propane and natural gas stoves will still be allowed.

Fire officials say anyone caught violating the ban will be fined. People can also be held responsible for any firefighting costs if a prohibited fire gets out of control.
