May 22, 2019 | 8:25 AM

There was just one game on the schedule Tuesday evening in the Wheatbelt Baseball League, but it turned out to be a thriller between the Grimshaw Huskies and the Manning Mets.

The contest was the 2nd half of a home and home between these two teams, with the Huskies claiming the first half 13-5 last Thursday.

However, Tuesday night’s game in Manning turned out to be much closer than the first meeting.

The visiting Huskies got off to a good start scoring 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning.

Manning would come back strong though, scoring four unanswered runs in the next four innings to take a 4-3 lead.

The back and forth affair would continue in the 5th and 6th innings as the Huskies would score 6 runs over the course of the 2 innings to take a 9-4 lead.

The Mets would begin to climb back in the bottom half of the 6th with 3 runs of their own to cut the deficit to 2.

In the bottom half of the 7th Manning would even the game at 9 with a pair of runs and as a result the game would need an extra inning where Manning would complete the comeback and earn a 10-9 win.

The win is Manning’s 1st of the season.

They will look to make it back to back wins Wednesday night when they host the Peace River Stampeders.

First pitch is at 7:15 p.m.
