RCMP say Victoria Day long weekend was a busy one for enforcement

RCMP say over the Victoria Day long weekend there were three fatalities and 27 injuries caused by motor vehicle collisions, excluding off-road vehicles, in Alberta.

Between May 17 and 20, RCMP Traffic Services issued 2,075 speeding tickets and 79 tickets for seatbelt violations.

Alberta RCMP note that enforcement operations throughout the province were focused on occupant restraints, speeding, distracted, and impaired driving.

RCMP would also like to remind all road users, drivers, riders, passengers, and pedestrians alike that traffic safety is a shared responsibility.
