Stampeders bounce back in big way at home

Jun 5, 2019 | 7:50 AM

The Wheatbelt Baseball League kicked off their week Tuesday night with a contest between two clubs looking to try and get back in the win column.

The Peace River Stampeders hosted the Grimshaw Huskies back at the Ski Hill Tuesday evening.

Last week the Stamps were unable to play at their home diamond due to it being closed because of the evacuation centre set up in Peace River.

On the diamond Tuesday night, it was a dominant performance by the home side.

The Stamps scored 11 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 13-2 win over the Huskies.

Peace River improved to 4-2 with the win.

League play continues Wednesday evening when the Stampeders head to Manning to face the Mets, and the Grimshaw Huskies host the Rycroft Rage.
