Kenney promises to fight for Energy East

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has promised to fight relentlessly for the Energy East oil pipeline project.
Kenney made the commitment after speaking to a business group this morning in Saint John, New Brunswick.
He says Canada needs multiple oil pipelines to help provide the certainty and diversity of markets required by the energy industry.
The Energy East pipeline would have carried oil from Alberta and Saskatchewan to eastern refineries and a marine terminal in Saint John but it was cancelled by TransCanada in 2017 because regulators failed to reach a decision on the project.
