Atikameg woman killed in van rollover Monday, driver charged

The driver of a van that was involved in an early morning single vehicle rollover northeast of High Prairie on Monday has been charged, after one of the van’s passengers was killed in the crash.

High Prairie RCMP responded to the scene around a.m., about 100 km from town along Highway 750. Police found five occupants in the rolled over vehicle, and one passenger was found deceased upon arrival.

A charge of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death has been laid against 45-year-old Jaime Lane Grey of Atikameg First Nation, in the death of 42-year-old Myrna Leigh Gladue, also from Atikameg First Nation.

All other passengers received minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Grey was arrested at the scene and has been remanded into custody. He will appear in Slave Lake Provincial Court June 19.
