Evacuation alerts lifted for Widewater, Canyon Creek

An eight-hour evacuation alert for Canyon Creek and Widewater has been lifted.

A nearby wildfire that started Monday was declared under control today.

It burned a little over 15 hectares.

An evacuation order for Trout Lake and high-risk people in Peerless Lake remains in place because of the McMillan complex fires.

Bigstone Cree Nation is still under an eight-hour evacuation alert.

There are now four fires in the McMillan complex. They have burned close to 277, 000 hectares. One that has burned 276,502 hectares remains out of control. The others are under control.
