New hospital in search of local photographs

Jun 24, 2019 | 6:41 AM

Photographers – both professional, and amateur alike, are invited to submit their pictures for a chance to have them displayed in the new Grande Prairie hospital.

“Submitted photos might be printed as wall graphics – from three- to nine-feet tall – and adorn public areas, waiting rooms and lounge spaces at the new hospital,” Alberta Health Services said in a press release.

Stacy Greening, Senior Operating Officer for clinical operations in G.P., says they are looking for a variety of photos, anything that represents the people in the communities that are served through the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

“Interesting angles or lighting situations, they can be close up macro shots, and other creative view points. Really we are looking for them to explore any areas of nature, landscapes, skyskapes, seasons, landmarks, innovation, recreation, cultural activities, stages of life, concepts of care and wellness.”

Greening isn’t too sure exactly how many photographs they’ll end up needing. There’s no limit to the amount of photos you can submit.

“So that allows us to be flexible as we identify photos and groupings of photos, there may be opportunities where we have a single place for a photo and we opt to put multiple photos in that area or a single photo, so that gives us some flexibility.”
