Jun 24, 2019 | 8:41 AM

Despite not being selected in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver over the weekend, Grande Prairie Storm forward Zachary Okabe was noticed by one NHL club.

It was announced Sunday morning that Okabe had received an invite to the Ottawa Senators Development Camp.

Okabe had 31 goals and 27 assists with the Grande Prairie Storm last season.

Senators Development Camp begins Tuesday and wraps up on Friday.

Two players from the Alberta Junior Hockey League were selected on Day 2 of the NHL Draft Saturday.

Okotoks Oilers forward Quinn Olson was selected in the 3rd Round by the Boston Bruins 92nd overall and Sherwood Park Crusaders goaltender Carter Gylander was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in Round 7, 191st overall.
