WAINWRIGHT, Alta. – The mayor of a town in east-central Alberta says a six-year-old girl was seriously injured in a parade over the weekend.
Wainwright Mayor Brian Bethune says the girl fell off a float Saturday afternoon in the town’s annual stampede parade.
It happened in front of the town’s hospital, where she was initially treated.
Bethune says the girl was later airlifted to an Edmonton hospital because there was a concern she might have brain damage.
