Former Humboldt Bronco inks sponsorship deal with Adidas

AIRDRIE, Alta. – Injured Humboldt Broncos player Ryan Straschnitzki has signed a multi-year contract with Adidas Canada and has a lot of new sportswear as a result.

Straschnitzki was paralyzed from the chest down in the April 2018 crash between a bus carrying the Broncos hockey team and a semi-truck.

Since then he has been going to physio and hopes to one day play on the national sledge hockey team.

Straschnitzki says he’s humbled that Adidas reached out to him over social media.

He’ll be expected to wear the sporting company’s clothing as well as participate in its hockey and training campaigns alongside other Adidas-signed athletes such as Connor McDavid with the N-H-L Edmonton Oilers.

Sixteen people died as a result of the Broncos crash and 13 players were injured.
