New Dream Home Construction Underway

Jun 29, 2019 | 10:33 AM

The next dream home is already under construction, ahead of the 2020 Rotary Dream Home Lottery.

The home being built once again in the Taylor Estates neighbourhood of Grande Prairie, just two doors down from the 2018 edition of the home. This year’s edition is also being built by the same builder as last year, that being High Mark Homes.

“High Mark Homes commits and it’s a major investment of time and donation for them,” said Lottery Manager Kevin Hilgers. “It has been a pleasure working with them.”

The 27th edition of the Dream Home is being described as “a twist of French-Country Modern design”. The home will be 3045 square feet and feature five bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. The design will also feature distressed woodwork, metals and organic fabrics.

As for when the home will be completed, Hilgers says around Christmas or New year’s once again will be the likely completion date.

“That seems to work well for us because families are together and it has almost become a tradition for folks to go see the Dream Home while their family is in town for Christmas,” said Hilgers.

Hilgers further adds that the 2019 lottery was the biggest lottery the Rotary Club has had yet, as the fundraiser helped over 26 community groups and associations in the Swan City.

“We’re excited to get rolling with another fundraiser that touches so many in our community,” said President-Elect for the Rotary Club Steve Madden.

Tickets for the 2020 Dream Home will go on sale when the home opens.
