Sutherland claims Ponoka Crown

The final heat of the Ponoka Stampede went on Canada Day and when all was said and done it was Mark Sutherland who claimed the $50,000 prize.

Sutherland captured the crown with a run of 1:20.24 from barrel position 2.

Both Logan Gorst and Kirk Sutherland finished in a tie for 2nd when they finished with a time of 1:20.28, while defending Ponoka Stampede champion Vern Nolin finished 4th.

The WPCA Pro Tour will now take a break for the Calgary Stampede which runs from July 5-14.
