Aquatera warning possible applicants of fraudulent job postings

Jul 5, 2019 | 12:34 PM

Aquatera is putting out a warning to people about fraudulent job postings.

Sarah Martin, Public Relations and Communications Specialist with Aquatera, says they were first notified when someone came to the office to apply for a front desk receptionist position that they weren’t hiring for.

The recent posting showed up on Indeed, WowJobs, and Glassdoor.

She says it’s tricky when job postings are made from different sites, because in this most recent case, there were two postings for Aquatera, one of them was legit and one of them was not.

“To ensure that a job is valid, we do ask people to visit www.aquatera.ca/careers and they can see all of our current job postings on there and apply that way,” she said.

She also said Aquatera will never request personal or financial information or request financial transactions. She says they will never send applicants emails from unofficial/free email accounts like gmail, Hotmail, Live, Yahoo, or AOL.

“All of the emails you receive from Aquatera will come from aquatera.ca so that you know it is legitimate.”

If you believe you have been a victim of fraud, you’re encouraged to contact RCMP.
