Locals start competing today at the Calgary Stampede

UPDATE: Jake Watson scored an 85.5, good for third place in saddle broncs. Two others tied for first, each with a score of 86.

Fort St. John’s Stephen Culling is in fifth place in the steer wrestling after recording time of 5.4 seconds.

Pouce Coupe’s Clayton Moore recorded a no time in the bull dogging.

It is rodeo and wagon time at the Calgary Stampede.

The first go round of Pool A at the rodeo is set for this afternoon.

Pouce Coupe’s Clayton Moore and Fort St. John’s Stephen Culling will be in the steer wrestling, while Jake Watson of Hudson’s Hope is in the saddle broncs.

The Rangeland Derby starts tonight.

Chanse Vigen, Cody Ridsdale, and Kirk, Mitch, and Mark Sutherland are among the drivers taking part.

Mark is coming off a win in Ponoka while Chanse won the stop in Medicine Hat.

The Calgary Stampede will run through July 14.
