Jul 10, 2019 | 5:01 PM

Alberta Justice and Solicitor General have confirmed to EverythingGP that charges have been laid in the case of a video showing a family of trumpeter swans seemingly being shot at with fireworks or flares on Crystal Lake back in June.

β€œOn July 8, 2019, an individual was charged with hunting during closed season, namely, Trumpeter Swans, under section 25 {1} of the Wildlife Act. As the matter will be in court, it will be inappropriate to comment on any details or provide more information on the case,” said Alberta Justice and Solicitor General in a statement emailed to our newsroom.

No names of those accused were released.

Reportedly, none of the birds were hurt in the incident, which surfaced on social media in mid-June.
