Trudeau visits Trans Mountain terminal in Edmonton

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has visited the Trans Mountain pipeline terminal in Edmonton, a month after his government gave a second go-ahead to the line’s expansion to the West Coast.
The approval came about 10 months after the Federal Court of Appeal said Ottawa hadn’t done a good enough job with environmental reviews of the project, or consulting with Indigenous groups.
The Opposition Conservatives called for an appeal, but the Liberal government followed the court’s ruling.
Trudeau told the Edmonton gathering that if they had appealed, the only people working on Trans Mountain this summer would be lawyers fighting in court.
