Jul 15, 2019 | 7:16 AM

Logan Gorst is the 2019 Rangeland Derby Champion at the Calgary Stampede.

Gorst claimed the crown Sunday, winning the Championship heat with a time 1:10.87.

Gorst edged out Todd Bapiste, Luke Tournier, and Vern Nolin in the Championship heat, with all 4 hailing from Saskatchewan.

The accolades didn’t end there for Gorst.

He was also named the 2019 Calgary Stampede Safe Driver (least penalized), and the 2019 Orville Strandquist Memorial Award (top rookie driver).

The WPCA Tour will resume on August 2 in Strathmore for the Strathmore Stampede.

Lane Kimble won the Western Chuckwagon Association crown at the Teepee Creek Stampede.

Sunday night’s races were cancelled because of rain.

The next stop for the WCA is the Manning Rodeo. Racing there will run Thursday through Saturday.
