Rainfall warnings for Grande Prairie and Peace Country

A rainfall warning is in place for areas around Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge and Valleyview.

There are also warnings in place for the Fairview, Peace River, High Prairie, and Manning areas.

Environment Canada says there could be 40 to 70 mm of rain by the time it lets up Thursday night.

Local amounts could reach 100 mm.

The warning area covers Birch Hills and Saddle Hills Counties north through Northern Lights and Northern Sunrise Counties and east to the MD of Big Lakes.
