Man charged with murder after domestic situation in central Alberta

Charges have been laid in the shooting death of a woman in central Alberta.

RCMP say 44-year-old Marshall Lawrence Stone is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Ashley Ames, and also faces one count of attempted murder of her sister, 29-year-old Alexis Ames.

Police earlier said they located Ames dead and her sister injured when Mounties in Rocky Mountain House responded to several 9-1-1 complaints about a man with a gun in a home on Friday.

At the time, they called the case a “domestic situation.”
