Swan City Showdown to attract players from all over the Peace and Province

It’s been a busy few months for the Grande Prairie Disc Golf Club and one of their premier events is just around the corner.

The Swan City Showdown is just two weeks away and spots are filling up quickly according to Secretary and Tournament Organizer Greg Hearn.

“Our annual tournament, the Swan City Showdown, will go August 24-25. We are currently at 61% capacity for the tournament, so we are having a really good turnout. About half of those players are local.”

The tournament will also feature players from Fort McMurray, Dawson Creek, and Fort St.John.

This year, the organization will be capping registrations at 72 players.

This will allow them to have four players at each hole during the rounds and allow for a shotgun start.

The Grande Prairie Disc Club will also be hosting reigning World Champion Disc Golfer Greg Barsby in September.
