The Grande Prairie Public School District has been providing education to families in the Grande Prairie area for over 100 years serving over 8,400 students in 18 schools in the City of Grande Prairie. We are committed to the continuous improvement of student achievement and learning opportunities for every student.

Opportunities for your child to be immersed in an engaging and learning-centred program is a commitment we make to your family. Grande Prairie Public School District schools offer excellent programming in your neighbourhood school. Additionally, programs of choice are offered at the following schools:

• Montessori programming at Parkside Montessori
• French Immersion programming at Ecole Montrose and Charles Spencer High School
• Christian-centred programming at Grande Prairie Christian School
• International Baccalaureate (IB) programming at the Composite High School
• The Academy: Sports and Dance at Alexander Forbes, Ecole Montrose, Aspen Grove School, and Charles Spencer High School

In addition to offering excellent programming, the Grande Prairie Public School District recognizes the importance of supporting our families through high-quality child care opportunities. We have partnered with the YMCA, Stepping Stones, and A Bright Beginnings Child Care to offer Early Years Child Care, Kinder Care, and Before and After School Care. Transportation is provided at no cost to students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 who live 1.7 km away or further from their boundary school and for students in Grades 4-12 who live 2.4 km or further from their boundary school. Please see our website for more information.
