Pair charged in Nampa armed robbery case

Two men from the Peace River area have been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a liquor store in Nampa last month.

RCMP were called to the Big Country Inn liquor store in the early morning hours of July 13 on a report of an armed robbery.

Following an investigation by Peace Regional RCMP, the Peace River General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section, both 34-year-old Joshua William Northcott, of Peace River, and 31-year-old Nampa resident Mukhtar Ali have been charged.

Northcott faces a charge of robbery with a firearm, while Ali faces one count of possession of property obtained by crime, under $5000.

Northcott remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Peace River Provincial Court on August 12. Ali has been released from custody is set to appear in court on August 26.

Though these two have been charged, the investigation into this incident is on-going at this time.
